Telegraph hands Drayton top job and drafts in Woolfenden

The Telegraph is promoting Daily Telegraph marketing manager Hugo Drayton to marketing director, filling the role left vacant since the departure of David Pugh.

Paul Woolfenden is taking on the new role of promotions director. A former promotions director for The Sunday Times and The Times, he joins from marketing and sales promotion specialist Firecrest.

Woolfenden will be responsible for all in-paper promotions and advertising for the daily and Sunday titles.

Drayton takes on responsibility for all editorial product development, branding, research and new media – including the Electronic Telegraph and Electronic Young Telegraph.

Former marketing director Pugh resigned three months ago (MW November 2 1995). He joins poster company Mills & Allen next month in the new position of commercial director (MW December 15 1995).

Arc Advertising has been reappointed to the creative account for The Sunday Times. It defeated Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis, and EURO RSCG Wnek Gosper.
