IPC restructures women’s titles

IPC Magazines group managing director Nigel Davidson has restructured its SouthBank and Women’s Weeklies Groups.

SouthBank is to be jointly run by publishing directors Heather Love and Kathy Rudd, while Sandy Gale will take over the weeklies group. Davidson took over as md of the two groups last June.

Rudd, currently publishing director of the Women’s Weeklies Group, has been appointed to the new position of publishing director of women’s general and home interest magazines. This section covers titles such as Family Circle, which is being relaunched in February, and Homes & Gardens.

The IPC SouthBank Group, which publishes monthly glossy magazines, has been divided into two groups. Heather Love, currently publishing director of the fashion interest titles, which includes Marie Claire, has extended her responsibilities to cover “parenting” titles.

Sandy Gale, currently publishing director of women’s practicals and “parenting” titles, replaces Rudd as publishing director of the Women’s Weeklies Group.

Richard Brock, publishing director of the home interest titles and responsible for the launch of Homes & Ideas, is leaving the company.
