Del Monte marketing chief secures new role

Former Del Monte marketing chief Philip Wade, a casualty of the company’s last management restructure, has been appointed European sales and marketing director at a US home safety company.

Wade took up his new post late last year at BRK Brands Europe, based in Newbury, which produces First Alert, a home fire and safety products brand.

He was UK marketing director for Del Monte Foods, but was made redundant, together with sales director Chris Todd, six months after the appointment of Stephen Thorpe as managing director.

Meanwhile, Helen King, former group product manager (foods) at Del Monte, has been promoted to marketing manager (foods). She will continue to report directly to Thorpe.
