Reebok hires Hambrick as global chief

Reebok is appointing a new chief marketing officer to lead its global strategy as part of a restructure of senior management.

Pat Hambrick, US head of Women’s Sports and Fitness, will be based at Reebok’s Massachusetts head office and report to president Robert Meers.

It is believed she will be responsible for unifying the company’s marketing and product development groups.

Roger Best, Northern European vice president, will also be leaving the UK to become senior vice president and general manager of North America. Best, who has been tipped for a top level Reebok job in the US (MW January 19), was managing director at Reebok for four years before taking the vice president role.

Reebok International is stepping up its assault on Nike with its latest global ad campaign centred on the theme of Planet Reebok.

Last week it announced plans to sell its Avia arm. It recently hired communications agency Gyrographic to push Avia in the UK.
