Oracle hunts agency for corporate branding campaign across Europe

Computer software giant Oracle is seeking an advertising agency to build its corporate image in the UK and possibly across Europe.

A spokeswoman for the company says: “Our new financial year starts in June and we want something in place by then.”

The budget has yet to be decided, but she adds: “The company is looking initially at the review from a UK perspective but it may extend that into a pan-European campaign.”

The account has been held for the past two years in the UK by London-based Newman Long and before that was run by Saatchi & Saatchi.

Oracle has not drawn up a shortlist but intends to do so in the next fortnight.

The successful agency is likely to develop product campaigns as well as corporate work.

Oracle claims to be the world’s leading database software supplier. This week it is expected to acquire a stake in a satellite joint venture formed by US telecommunications group MCI and media group News Corp. The new venture will provide Internet services to US businesses and consumers.
