Orchid seeks shop for soft drinks push

Orchid Drinks is seeking an advertising agency for its range of soft drinks, which includes Aqua Libra and Purdey’s.

The company bought the brands from International Distillers & Vintners in 1994, and since then has concentrated on below-the-line activity, including public relations and sponsorship. Before that, advertising spend on the brands is understood to have been about 2m.

As well as Aqua Libra and Purdey’s, Orchid also sells: sports drink Dexters; Norfolk Punch; the Monsoon range of fruit drinks; and the Amé range of wine-substitute drinks consisting of Amé White, Amé Red and Amé Rosé.

Orchid Drinks claims to be the brand leader in the UK soft drinks market. It was launched in 1992 by five Camerons Brewery managers, backed by venture capital group 3i.

Orchid is looking at a number of agencies for its above-the-line campaign, which will take place over the next 18 months.
