NatWest hunts new group director

NatWest marketing director Raoul Pinnell is hunting for a group marketing director to head the bank’s combined life, pensions and investments operation, NatWest Life & Investment Services (L&IS).

The operation was created at the beginning of last year and is an amalgam of four NatWest companies: NatWest Life, NatWest Unit Trusts, NatWest Regulated Sales Force and NatWest Investments.

According to Pinnell, NatWest Life marketing director Peter Baxter and NatWest Investment marketing director David Saidman, will retain their positions under the new group marketing director.

Headhunters are searching for a suitable candidate for the role, which will control a multimillion pound budget.

NatWest L&IS combines life assurance, pensions and investment products, such as unit trusts and PEPs.

Its managing director, Lawrence Churchill, was previously managing director of NatWest Life, which launched in 1993 and has found it hard to establish itself in the market.

Pinnell says the decision to merge the life and investment companies was taken because the divisions between the operations are blurring.
