Winston battles on in danger zone

Delaney Fletcher Bozell’s chairman Winston Fletcher found himself on the wrong side of the law when the IRA bus bomb went off – well, the wrong side of the police cordon anyway.

The Diary understands concerned officers had to organise a one-man evacuation of Winston from his office, where he was sitting unprotected by personal insurance in the only occupied part of the agency within the danger zone.

Sources say the advertising chief was seen running away to safety with his Beryl Cook original under his arm, but this is as yet unconfirmed.
