MTV has signed a three-year sponsorship, programming and advertising deal with Pepsi. The deal makes Pepsi the exclusive soft drink sponsor on the channel and will lead to Pepsi getting involved with programme development, cross promotions and marketing tie-ins.

Nynex and Telewest, the cable operators, are believed to be in talks about merging their UK operations. Nynex is understood to want to scale down its operations in the UK.

Jane Asher is to take on Delia Smith by fronting supplements attached to BBC Good Food Magazine. Smith endorses rival Sainsbury’s The Magazine.

FutureNet, the Website of specialist publisher Future, has logged its 200,000th registered user. Future claims this makes it the UK’s most popular Web site.
