Former P&G vice-president to head Kimberly-Clark wing

Kimberly-Clark has hired Procter & Gamble’s vice-president of beauty care products Germany, Thomas Farkas, to head a new division.

Farkas’ new role is sector president for adult care. In the past, adult care products, which include the Kotex feminine hygiene brand, and infant care products, which include Huggies disposable nappies, were part of the same department. However, following the merger of Kimberly-Clark and Scott Paper in January, the department has been divided up.

Infant care products will now be the responsibility of Bob Tibault, who has worked for Kimberly-Clark in the US for a number of years.

Kimberly-Clark, while confirming Farkas’ and Tibault’s appointments, will not discuss the reason for the restructure, nor will it discuss their responsibilities.

Before becoming P&G’s vice-president for beauty care products, where he was responsible for brands such as Pantene and Vidal Sassoon Wash & Go, Farkas was general manager of the same division. He was previously P&G general manager for Hungary.

Kimberly-Clark’s merger with Scott at the start of the year led to the loss of 300 jobs at its site in Kent.
