Clark & Taylor has won the 2m account for fashion retailer Etam, with a brief to launch its first advertising campaign.
Etam approached agencies in May last year with a brief to review positioning and communications. But the company has since been through senior-level changes, with new managing director Nick Hollingworth brought in from Burton Group’s Evans chain. It also lost marketing director Rob Thomas.
The retailer was unavailable for comment, but it is understood that Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO and Publicis were among those agencies originally asked to pitch.
It is believed that marketing manager Deborah Ross-McKay supervised the pitch.
Etam, which has 250 stores, has established an identity as an inexpensive, mass-market fashion chain and is often referred to as the “Essex girl retailer”. Under Hollingworth, the company is seeking to reposition the brand.
