Ex-Sega head signs for Hasbro arm

Former Sega European marketing and product director Barry Jafrato has been appointed as managing director of Hasbro’s interactive arm – launched in the UK late last year.

Jafrato left Sega in January after the company announced its plans to axe staff and merge its European and UK management. He was previously international director of the Virgin video games division.

He joins Hasbro in May, and will report to Hasbro Interactive president Tom Dusenberry, with respon-sibilities for European sales and marketing.

Hasbro Interactive launched Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit on CD-Rom for PCs in November last year. The division is also planning to launch more products this year on CD-Rom, including Battleships and Cluedo.

Hasbro is still hunting for a European marketing director to develop a strategy for brands such as Action Man and Sindy.
