Sol directors start new distribution concern

Former directors of the collapsed Dolomore distribution group have created a new company to distribute and market premium lagers Sol and Dos Equís and adult soft drink Red Bull.

Dolomore went into receivership two weeks ago (MW April 5). Created last September it handled all trade marketing and sales for the brands.

The new company, UbevCo, is headed by former Dolomore managing director Dennis Miller. Catherine Blackburn becomes marketing director. Other former Dolomore directors include non-executive chairman Charles Helvert and commercial director Chris Garden.

Blackburn says the new company is holding talks with the owners of brands Steinlager, Moosehead, Kassel and Tiger, which were previously handled by Dolomore. “We are intent on having a portfolio of around seven premium beer and soft drinks brands,” says Blackburn.
