BA Holidays hires head of marketing

British Airways Holidays is ap-pointing Tricia Warwick from Utell International as its new marketing chief.

Warwick will report to BA Holidays managing director Roger Heape and is replacing Martin Young, the former head of sales and marketing who left in January.

Since Young’s departure, the job has been reorganised to incorporate customer relations.

At Utell, a hotel-representation company with 6,500 hotels on its books, Warwick was director of marketing and development for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Before that she worked at Jetset.

BA Holidays is a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways. It is a tour operator specialising in long-haul travel and city breaks, with most of its holidays on BA flights. It also offers holidays in the UK for foreign visitors.

The company says its turnover was over 200m last year. Recently, BA Holidays claimed that a survey it had conducted showed that 30 per cent of potential customers would consider travelling further afield for a city break, with America, Canada, Egypt and Dubai coming top of the list.
