HHCL & Partners is close to joining the Guinness roster. It is believed to have been invited to pitch for the 5m Guinness stout advertising account in Ireland.

Ogilvy & Mather-owned Bell Advertising, based in Dublin, picked up the Irish account from Arks Advertising in March. But the agency was put on notice that a review would take place within six months, and include new and existing roster agencies.

It is understood that HHCL be-came involved at this point, sparking the possibility of conflict with one of its key clients – Britvic-owned Tango. Britvic is jointly-owned by Bass, Allied Domecq and Whitbread.

HHCL partner Rupert Howell denies the agency has any relationship with Guinness.
