Leith Agency takes on Bank of Scotland brief

The Bank of Scotland has appointed the Leith Agency to handle the 3m creative account for its UK retail network.

The decision follows a four-way competitive pitch. In the past, the Bank of Scotland has used a number of ad agencies on a project by project basis.

As a result of the win the Leith Agency has to resign the account for the Clydesdale Bank, because of a conflict of interests.

The lengthy advertising review carried out by the Bank of Scotland culminated in the appointment of Marr Associates to work on its high-profile consumer campaigns. The agency joined Barkers Scotland, which was hired by the bank to handle business and corporate advertising.

Throughout the Eighties, the Bank of Scotland had a high profile, created by the Friend for Life campaign, but the bank has not invested in a brand-building effort for a number of years.
