Gillette Euro chief quits for priesthood

Gillette’s head of marketing for Northern Europe, Martin Williams, is leaving the company to join the priesthood.

Williams will leave the post he has held for two years at the end of July. His job is likely to be filled internally.

He was responsible for marketing all the company’s products in the UK, Scandinavia, Holland and Ireland.

Williams has been with Gill ette UK for four and a half years, during which he has been marketing controller for the Gillette brand and marketing manager for anti-perspirants and deodorants.

As marketing controller for the Gillette brand he was responsible for the launch of Gillette Sensor Excel and Gillette Sensor for Woman.

Prior to joining Gillette, Williams spent four years as product group manager for baby and oral care products at Johnson & Johnson.
