Phileas Fogg chief quits for KP npd role

The head of marketing for Phileas Fogg is leaving KP-owned Derwent Valley Foods as the business hunts for an advertising agency.

Sarah Burt, group brand manager, has been appointed new product development (npd) manager for sister company KP Snacks.

Her departure comes as Derwent seeks an agency for its 2m account, after Bartle Bogle Hegarty resigned the business following its recent Golden Wonder win. Burt will draw up a shortlist before she leaves.

She says: “I am sad to be leaving but it’s a good move and an exciting challenge.”

Paul Revell, managing director of Derwent, will take over marketing responsibilities in the interim.

The npd role at KP Snacks has been in limbo since parent company United Biscuits’ restructure in December. The business was split into four units – crisps, snacks, nuts and Derwent Valley Foods – with Will Carter head of the snacks unit. It is not yet clear who Burt will report to.

Before joining Derwent in 1993 Burt worked at Scottish & Newcastle Brewery.
