Brief

A new singles magazine that claims to avoid relationship sagas and instead promote an independent attitude is to be launched this autumn. The first issue of Mono, from Lindforth Publishing, will launch on September 26 as a glossy A4. It will offer its readership information such as how to get a private pilot’s licence and advice from image consultants. The company says Mono, Greek for single, won’t ‘dwell on the agonies of relationship breakups, it has a real “get up and go” attitude designed to inspire and motivate single people’. Mono, which will also carry listings on events, holidays and activities for single people, is being aimed at 25 to 55 years olds. It is estimated that there are more than 4.5m people in this category in the UK.
