With regard to the article “Tesco in dispute with Camelot over the Lottery” (MW July 12), we are not facing a dispute with Camelot. We enjoy a very good working relationship with the company and it was happy with our handling of this situation. Tesco gave notice to Camelot when the decision was made to remove the terminals from our two central London stores.

The decision was taken because of problems over access to the store. This had resulted from queueing at the terminals. Trading in the stores was not disrupted but we felt the situation unacceptable. Unfortunately, because of the small size of both stores, it was not possible to reposition the terminals and we therefore decided to remove them.
