Your article on the provision of Internet online services (MW August 9) was most enlightening.

But there is one problem with the Internet that Virgin Net and CompuServe should challenge – currently, all access to Websites is free of charge at the point of contact.

Imagine the possibilities of an 0891 pay-for-view service for marketing directly-broadcast material. Combine it with L-VIS (live video insertion system), which is already in use by the San Francisco Giants baseball team, and with modern database marketing tools, and it would be possible to have a 100 per cent client-based marketing channel.
