Rose show is road to ruin for alcopops
Any suspicions that alcopop manufacturers are targeting products at children and underage drinkers should be immediately discounted.
United Distillers is promoting its new gin alcopop Ginzing with a whistlestop UK tour by US arch surrealist and weirdo, Jim Rose.
Rose will be taking the Ginzing roadshow to pubs all over Britain, regaling drinkers with freaky tales about Mexican cosmetic surgeons and Brazilian medicine men. A volunteer from the audience will then be asked to stand with an apple in their mouth while the zany American carves out the initials GZ in the piece of fruit with a chainsaw.
UD says it is not expecting any controversy over the shows, even though they associate an alcoholic drink with the use of heavy machinery, an obviously dangerous mixture. But, as Rose always tells his audience: “Do not try this at home. Go round to someone else’s house and do it.”
