Former BA boss Ennals joins Lloyds TSB

Former British Airways marketing director Ford Ennals has joined Lloyds TSB and is tipped to take over the vacant role of marketing services director.

Ennals has been out of a job since May when he left BA after less than a year as marketing director.

He cited future career prospects not meeting his expectations as the cause for leaving.

Lloyds TSB would only confirm that Ennals had taken up a post at the bank and is currently work-

ing in the special projects division.

However, he has been interviewed and is a strong contender to take the marketing services director role left vacant by Tim Pile last month (MW August 2).

Pile, marketing services director at TSB before it merged with Lloyds last year, left his post to join building society Alliance & Leicester.

Ennals, a former professional footballer, is a high-profile marketing director with major fmcg brands under his belt. He started off in Lever Brothers as a marketing manager before going to Mars as UK marketing director.

In 1991, Ennals joined shoe giant Reebok in the US as senior vice-president where he played a key part in the Planet Reebok ad campaign.
