Jersey location for first DM convention

UK Direct, the first direct marketing convention in the UK, is taking place this week in Jersey. The theme of the convention is “Towards 2000: Direct Marketing Facing the Future”.

There will be about 250 delegates attending the convention, a number which DMA chief executive Colin Lloyd says is about as big as he would like it to be. “From my point of view, I am expecting to get an eclectic view of many of the issues in DM which will help me shape policies for the DMA.”

He adds: “This is the first time that the industry will be locked away for three days without interruption. I am sure we will see a lot of new relationships being built.”

Lloyd says he hopes UK Direct will become an annual event.
