Somerfield in marketing restructure

Supermarket chain Somerfield has restructured its marketing department and appointed Dominic Myers to the newly-created post of associate director for marketing.

Somerfield already has a marketing director, David Coles, and Myers will now report to him.

The company stresses that the new role does not detract from Coles’ responsibilities.

The company says the associate directorship does not represent a new position, it merely reflects the level and value of the work Myers has done as marketing executive.

Myers joined Somerfield in November 1991 as a division executive for the South-east. In 1993 he was appointed marketing executive.

As marketing executive, Myers was responsible for all Somerfield’s advertising and media spend, in-store and sales promotions. He will continue to hold responsibility for these areas.
