Brief

A consortium of German vintners with the backing of the Deutsches Wein-institut, the national wine growers institute, will launch a campaign to combat the perceived low quality of its wines. It emphasises wines that are dry and crisp, reflecting a trend towards dry, new world wine and away from the sweet, former bestselling Liebfraumilch. Davies Little Cowley will launch the 1m push this week which, over the next year, will feature in trade, national and consumer press. The tagline will be: ‘The new wine from Germany’.
