Doner takes on 13m Euro brief
Doner Cardwell Hawkins, formed last year from the failed GGK agency, has won the $20m (13m) account to expand MTD electric garden tools in Europe.
The agency’s US parent company, WB Doner, has held the US MTD account for the past four years.
The US garden tools giant, which makes lawnmowers, garden tractors and other electrical and fuel-driven appliances, has been active in Europe for a few years but is now stepping up its marketing to take on brands such as Flymo and Atco-Qualcast.
DCH will co-ordinate the campaign with a through-the-line push including branding, direct marketing and advertising.
The campaign will focus on three brands, the mass-market Yard Machines, the medium-range Yardman and the premium Cub Cadet.
It is a significant win for DCH, and adds to a string of smaller accounts the year-old agency has gained, in-cluding Fuller’s London Pride.
WB Doner bought out GGK last year (MW October 13 1995), and took on creative director Paul Cardwell and managing director Andrew Hawkins to form Doner Cardwell Hawkins.
