Procter & Gamble is understood to have found a replacement for marketing director for homecare and cleaning products Haluk Nural, who is returning to the US (MW August 9).

Brian Buitleir, a P&G marketing director in Austria, is returning to the UK to run brands including market leaders Fairy, Flash and Lenor.

Buitleir was previously a marketing manager for P&G brands in the UK before going to Austria.

Nural had been marketing director for over a year, and joined from P&G’s Cincinnati headquarters (MW July 14 1995). Nural was in charge of introducing every day low pricing to the Fairy brand in February and cutting prices on Lenor.

Since Nural joined, Lenor’s share had fallen from 37.8 per cent to 33.3 per cent (IRI Infoscan year to July) and Flash increased its value share from 13.4 per cent to 18.3 per cent.

Buitleir will report to UK general manager for P&G’s laundry and cleaning brands, Paul Polman.

P&G was unavailable for comment when MW went to press.
