Wickens Tutt Southgate confirms rumours of link with Princedale
Design consultancy Wickens Tutt Southgate (WTS) has confirmed that it has been holding talks with the Princedale Group, and others, about a link-up, but denies that it is up for sale.
Industry observers say WTS plans to sell a 25 per cent stake. A complete takeover of the consultancy is unlikely, although not completely out of the question.
The consultancy is well respected in the design community, but is believed to have reached the limits of its overdraft facility.
A WTS spokeswoman says: “We have been talking to the Princedale Group and to a number of other people. The company is changing.”
WTS’s work includes the current and previous Tango cans.
Princedale has been building its marketing services interests over the past few years.
It owns design consultancy MPL (formerly Michael Peters Limited), brand development specialists CLK and sales promotion agency BDP. It is understood to be searching for a head for its marketing services division, which it hopes eventually to spin-off and float on the Stock Exchange.
