More Group boosts profit by one-third

The More Group, formerly More O’Ferrall plc, has increased pre-tax profits by 33 per cent to 6.2m in the first six months of 1996, thanks to a strong performance from its Adshel operations in the UK and Ireland.

Adshel’s ad revenue increased by 27 per cent in the UK and Ireland. The billboard operations – now named More O’Ferrall – increased revenue by 27 per cent, after including a contribution from the acquisition of Allied posters in London.

The UK and Irish operations contributed 5.3m to the overall profit of the group.

The UK outdoor market’s ad revenue is estimated to grow by ten to 15 per cent this year, with Adshel likely to outperform larger sizes.

More O’Ferrall has invested more than 25m converting its four-sheet posters to the illuminated Adshel six-sheet format over the past five years.

The total group turnover – which includes operations overseas – increased by 21 per cent to 47.8m.
