Am I alone in wanting Bob Hoskins and his BT commercials banished from my TV screen, never to return? I have reached the point where I dive for the off button each time these infuriating ads appear (which seems to be every commercial break).
I cannot understand why BT feels it necessary to advertise at all. It is now common practice for advertisers to put telephone numbers in their ads followed by the demand “Phone now!” Then there are the travel programme competitions, Newsnight phone-ins etc: all of these people are doing BT’s job for them.
What next? If and when water supplies are metered, will we be bombarded with ads encouraging us to flush to toilet more often?
