Amstrad PC sales arm in 3m review

Amstrad-owned direct PC seller Viglen is reviewing its 3m account out of Lesniak Jones Liddell (LJL).

Viglen is keen to increase its brand awareness following the collapse of German-owned computer retailer and manufacturer Escom.

LJL, based in Stoke-on-Trent, has handled both the creative and media work for the PC company for the past six years.

Viglen managing director Bordan Tkachuk says the incumbent has been invited to pitch for the creative work only. “We have a good product but our brand is largely unknown. I want some brave advertising that stands out from the other brands and takes risks,” he adds.

Tkachuk says he has been impressed by media buying arms CIA Medianetwork and Zenith Media, although he has not made a decision about where either the media or the creative account will go.

Viglen will target the consumer market and concentrate on press and radio ads.
