Poster famine is exaggerated

Your report of a poster famine in the 48-sheet market next spring because of pre-booking by the Labour and Conservative parties, is a substantial exaggeration, “Election campaigning leads to poster famine” (MW November 1).

There is about 60 per cent availability of high-quality products in the large formats (48 and 96-sheets) including our premium network, Apollo. I would advise advertisers and agencies not to rely on press reports. If you want to know the position on outdoor, call your poster specialist or the media owner.

Finally, I think it is totally unprofessional to discuss any future contracts, whether they are with political parties or not. We should all safeguard the integrity of the outdoor medium and treat client information as strictly confidential.
