Liberty trawls agencies for 1.5m Punch media brief

Liberty Media’s Punch magazine is talking to agencies about its 1.5m media planning and buying account.

Punch’s advertising is currently handled on a full-service basis by Leagas Delaney.

The creative is staying with the agency but media buying will pass to a media independent.

The magazine is seeing credentials presentations and is expected to compile a shortlist soon.

Punch claims it is on target for a settled circulation figure of 80,000. After seven weeks, it has attracted 10,000 subscribers. It has a target of 20,000 subscribers by January.

As part of the subscription push, the magazine spent 1m on mailing the magazine free at launch. Now it is offering subscriptions to those who received the magazine.

Punch, owned by Harrod’s owner Mohammed Al Fayed, has used a database of Harrod’s account holders for its subscriptions drive.
