Nestlé hires former BT marketing chief Pinder as brand consultant

BT’s former head of marketing communications, Charlotte Pinder, is working as a branding consultant for global food giant Nestlé.

According to sources close to Pinder, she is working three days a week and commuting to Nestlé’s global headquarters in Vevey Switzerland to advise on brand assessment, brand audit and new product development. “She is advising on global branding issues,” says one source.

Pinder left her previous role at BT six months ago (MW May 17) amid controversy. She walked out of her 150,000 a year job after nine months because of a bust-up with the division’s managing director, Stafford Taylor. She had been brought in to BT from Pepsi-Cola, where she was general manager for Ireland, to run the telecom giant’s 80m advertising budget.

She was appointed by BT’s ex-sales and marketing director Michael Biden, who was ousted earlier this year (MW January 12).

BT sources said at the time that her role had been usurped by US consultant Ed Carter.

Pinder started as brand manager at Procter & Gamble. She went on to become a board director of Grey London before joining Pepsi Cola International.

She is understood to have turned down several job offers since her departure.
