Boots joins Goldfish loyalty scheme

Boots is the latest recruit to the Goldfish credit card loyalty scheme, joining British Gas and Asda as redemption partners.

The Goldfish brand is owned by Goldbrand Development, which is a 50:50 joint venture between British Gas and HFC Bank.

Consumers who use their Goldfish credit cards – available as either MasterCard or Visa formats – to pay their gas bill or for other purchases get one point (worth one penny) for every pound they spend. These points can be used as discounts at British Gas, Asda and now Boots.

But the high street chemist chain has denied suggestions that the link with Goldfish could mark the end of its Advantage card-based loyalty scheme, which is currently being tested in 50 stores in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

A Boots spokesman comments: “We will be one of the redemption partners. Shoppers will be able to redeem points for Boots vouchers at any of our stores.” But he adds: “There is no question of our pulling out of the Advantage loyalty scheme.”
