Granada seeks chief after rejig

Granada Road Services is poised to make an appointment to the new post of sales and marketing director following a major company restructure.

An amalgamated business development department has been set up to integrate sales and marketing across the hospitality brands following a reorganisation after the 3.9bn takeover of Forte. The new post will cover Little Chef restaurants and Travel Lodge motels (handled together in the past) and Granada Motorways, the motorway service station brand.

The addition of the Granada Motorways brand doubles the responsibility of the new head of marketing, according to John Williams, managing director of the business development department.

He adds: “Each brand will still have its own brand manager but there will be a common support team headed by the new sales and marketing director.”

The appointee, expected to be an external candidate, will report directly to Williams. He or she will be based at the company’s relocated offices in Toddington, Bedfordshire.

Williams says a small number of redundancies were inevitable in the restructure, but that almost all posts in the new organisation have been filled with existing staff.
