Global (Special Events) is launching Fused, a new lifestyle event targeted at the gay market, between August 1 to 3 at Earl’s Court. It will provide an opportunity to target a previously neglected sector. Exhibitions on fashion, music, home interiors, home entertainment and food and drink will be staged.

Crown Business Communications has been appointed to handle the SGM of Halifax Building Society as part of its conversion to a plc. Crown has also been asked to produce the EGM that Norwich Union will be holding as part of its proposed flotation.

Hilton Hotels is offering 16 per cent commission to organisers who book residential conferences for 50 delegates or more up until March. The 34 Hilton National and Hilton International hotels in the UK are offering one double commission bonus every month.

The Decorium, a conference, banqueting and exhibition venue, has opened in London. The grand hall includes 5,500 sq ft of uninterrupted free space.
