Disney Stores’ European marketing director Lesley Angus has left to head marketing at Virgin Jeans.
Angus started at Virgin Jeans as marketing director this week. Ex-European marketing director for Pepe Jeans Mark Blenkinsop, who joined last year, will report to her as buying and merchandising director.
Virgin has done extensive market research into the new jeans brand but has yet to decide on a name.
The jeans, and a new range of Virgin cosmetics, are expected to be on sale by the end of this year. Virgin refuses to confirm whether it will be opening specialist jeans stores.
The company will be up against the might of Levi’s and Wrangler.
Also working on the Jeans project with Angus is ex-business development manager for Timberland’s Eastern European market, Simon Glasgow, who joined as managing director last September.
Disney’s European marketing manager Katja Klopf is currently handling its European marketing, but has not been officially appointed marketing director.
