Dorothy Perkins loses marketing boss after eight months
Fashion retail chain Dorothy Perkins has lost its marketing director Breffni Walsh, who has left only eight months after joining from collapsed retail giant Facia.
It is unclear if she has another job to go to, and no one from the chain was available for comment. But it is understood that Dorothy Perkins is hunting for a replacement.
Walsh joined Dorothy Perkins last June after losing her job at Facia. She was the fashion chain’s first marketing director and was given the brief to continue its advertising campaign using model Helena Christensen.
She conducted a review of its 1.5m advertising budget, axing advertising agency Steven Sharp, after it was appointed to handle rival chain Etam.
The agency review led to the appointment of public relations consultancy Lynne Franks PR.
Dorothy Perkins is part of the Burton Group and has about 440 stores in the UK, which have recently been refurbished.
Walsh’s appointment was in line with the group’s move to increase its focus on marketing for chains such as Burton Menswear and Principles.
Before joining Facia, Walsh worked for Pizza Hut and Unilever.
