Cult cosmetic firm tries nail polish for men

US cosmetic company Hard Candy is launching nail polishes targeted at young males.

The “Candyman” range, launching at the end of this month to coincide with London Fashion Week, includes seven dark metallic colours.

It will be available through fashion retailers and department stores. The launch will be accompanied by an advertising campaign created by design agency Explosive.

The new range will be sold in the same shaped bottles as the Hard Candy women’s range, but with silver tops.

Hard Candy, a cult brand among young women, already has a range of 35 nail colours for women, including green, blue and orange, plus a range of lipsticks.

It has been selling in the US for nearly two years and now appears in more than 700 locations worldwide.
