Duckworth Finn poised to win 5m Toshiba brief

Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters is tipped to win the 5m pan-European account for Toshiba’s new desktop and laptop computers.

Duckworth Finn defeated two other agencies – the Paris office of Foote Cone & Belding, and the Dusseldorf branch of Hakuhodo – during pitches in Dusseldorf last week.

The agency and the client are in final discussions over the size of the agency fee.

Duckworth Finn partner Michael Finn says: “Toshiba phoned us and told us they like our work. We are just ironing out the details at the moment – I don’t see any way that they can’t be worked out.”

Sources at the Japanese-based computer giant confirm that Duckworth Finn is the preferred agency.

Toshiba marketing manager Andy Bass says: “We have provisionally chosen an agency and if we can agree a price will sign a contract.”

Toshiba will launch its Equim business desktop range later this year. It is scheduled to launch its Infinia consumer desktop in the US on March 10.
