Phone bills ring with confusion

“Dazed and Confused” (MW January 24) must have struck a cord with many a reader and the term “confusion pricing” has brought me out in sympathy.

True, it’s part of a maze of information seemingly designed to contribute to a muddle for business users, so we are soon to launch a new product designed to cut confusion in the telecommunications market.

Called Tariff Auditor and supplied on CD-Rom, it includes an introduction to life since deregulation, a listing of all licensed carriers and a financial evaluation tool which provides businesses with an individual analysis based on their organisation’s call profile. The new system permits users to control input and make informed financial evaluations.

We realise that suppliers’ use of “confusion pricing” may be per-ceived as a racket, so we are committed to pointing the business user in the right direction for greater efficiency and maybe a cost saving too.
