Please lets have synchronicity

Am I alone in being perplexed by the peculiar trend in audio-visual entertainment offered in many café-bars?

I am referring to the places with TV monitors hanging from the ceiling like 20th century stalactites. These things are generally tuned to a pop video channel, which is fine, and the speakers dotted around the place are thumping out a tuneful little rock track, which is OK too.

But why does the audio never tie up with the visual? Surely it’s not beyond the wit of man to offer a bit of synchronisation? While the Spice Girls video and a Smurfs audio might pass unnoticed after a drink or two, Des O’Connor’s voice from Tina Turner’s lips is spoiling my appetite.

Can any MW reader in this industry please explain?
