Alfred Marks, the recruitment consultant, is hunting for an advertising agency to handle its 3m account.
The campaign will include press, posters, and possibly TV work. If TV is used, Alfred Marks will be the first recruitment agency on air since the Eighties.
An Alfred Marks spokeswoman says: “The ads will talk about company values. The way we are able to find specialised staff, our competence, and the orchestrated services we run.”
The company expects to hold pitches within the next three weeks.
Alfred Marks does not have an agency at present. The last account it had was with DMB&B in 1994. Its ads focused on attracting new recruits and featured the strapline: “Without you we are nothing.”
The move is an attempt to raise the profile of the business since it merged with French recruitment consultant ECCO Employment last June. The company’s full name is now Adecco Alfred Marks.
The merger made it the second largest employment agency in the world, with over 2,500 branches in 45 countries; the biggest is Manpower. In the UK, Alfred Marks has over 200 offices, against Manpower’s 270.
