Mediacom deputy managing director Andrew Goulborn is to join Saatchi & Saatchi as communications director and a member of the executive board. Goulborn will be responsible for the media and integration departments and Saatchi & Saatchi Vision.

The GWR Group has sold Norfolk commercial radio station KLFM for 1.08m, as part of its disposal programme enforced by the purchase of Classic FM. The Kings Lynn-based station has been bought by Dawe Media, whose managing director Stewart Francis set up KLFM in 1992.

Future Publishing is to launch a consumer music magazine – The Band – in June, aimed at people who want to form a group, record music and perform live. The initial print run will be 50,000 copies.

Harris Publications, the US publisher, is launching fashion magazine MODE next week, aimed at avoiding the ‘catwalk extremes’ of other style publications. The title will target women aged 25 to 49, with just under 30,000 copies distributed for sale in the UK.

ITV’s live late-night viewing figures for coverage of the Melbourne Formula One racing coverage on Sunday were 850,000, up a third on last year’s equivalent late night coverage on BBC. But ITV’s recorded coverage, aired on Sunday afternoon, was a modest 1.56 million, compared with the 2.28 million attracted by the BBC last year.

GMTV, the ITV breakfast contractor, has hired Chris Bartlett to head international programme sales for the station.
