Douglas applies blood pressure

Central Office of Information chief executive Tony Douglas was displaying a classic case of “do as I say, not as I do” at last week’s TV conference in Monte Carlo.

On the first evening of the con-ference Douglas explained why he has just appointed Delaney Fletcher Bozell to handle the 500,000 blood donors advertising account.

The aim, he stressed, was to encourage people to bare their veins and give life-saving blood, which currently too many of us are unwilling to do.

However, it turns out that one of the dissenters is none other than Mr Douglas himself.
