CPC chief Ian Ramsay handed European role
Ian Ramsay, general manager of food giant CPC in the UK, and president of the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA), is moving to Brussels to take up a European-wide role for the food group.
CPC operates in more than 20 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Knorr accounts for more than 50 per cent of business across these countries, although in the UK the Marmite and Bovril brands are bigger.
Ramsay’s new title will be senior vice-president finance and human resources CPC Europe. The role will include responsibility for acquisitions and business development. It is thought he is being groomed for the top job in CPC Europe.
He says no decision has yet been about whether he will continue at ISBA.
Ramsay’s position in the UK will be taken by Richard Oppenheim. He has held management level jobs for the company in the UK, where he was marketing manager, and Hungary and Israel, where he was general manager.
