Fuji has fired CIA Medianetwork from its 3m consumer photographic media planning and buying account.
CIA’s contract ran out late last year, as revealed in Marketing Week (November 15 1996). It is understood that Fuji is close to appointing Manning Gottlieb Media (MGM) to the account.
MGM is 30 per cent owned by TBWA Simons Palmer, which handles Fuji’s creative work. Simons Palmer was appointed to the UK Fujifilm account in October. Marketing Week revealed that it would merge with TBWA over two months ago (MW January 24).
According to a CIA spokesman, CIA was told that it had been fired because the client wanted to use a full-service advertising agency.
Anderson says CIA has retained the 2m Dutch Meat Council, which promotes Dutch meat products, in a two-way pitch against Mediapolis.
