Top exit halts Racing Green agency review

Racing Green marketing director Richard Lipton has left the clothing manufacturer in the middle of an agency review.

Lipton had been seeing agencies in the past few weeks about Racing Green’s 1m advertising account. The company does not have an agency.

His exit leaves the pitch in limbo, with Racing Green unable to say when it will resume.

Racing Green was bought by the Burton Group last October for 19m to enable Burton to challenge national chains such as Next and Gap.

The company, which is primarily a mail order operation, has a number of high street outlets, including some in Burton-owned chain Debenhams.

Racing Green would not comment on Lipton’s departure.

In a separate move, Debenhams is also understood to be reviewing its 3m advertising account out of TBWA Simons Palmer. The business was previously handled by the now defunct advertising agency Knight Leach Delaney.
